Arch expansion and continue habit correction
The T2 focuses on arch development and continuing habit correction. It has small breathing holes to maintain continuous nasal breathing and myofunctional features to promote correct habits. It features a more robust Dynamicore™ inner cage, promoting arch development, especially in the anterior region. If dental alignment is required, move to the T3 when the T2 has corrected the arch form, breathing and myofunctional habits. Otherwise, move to the T4 for retention.
Myobrace® for Teens is a four-stage appliance system used in the developing permanent dentition. Since craniofacial growth has relatively slowed in this age group, the main focus must be on arch development (especially anterior arch development) and dental alignment to reverse the effects caused by years of poor habits. This appliance range is designed to address these considerations in conjunction with habit correction for better orthodontic and health outcomes.
The majority of our children will develop crowded teeth and incorrect jaw alignment. Modern research has shown that mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, reverse swallowing and thumb sucking-known as incorrect myofunctional habits-are the real causes of crooked teeth. These habits limit the development of the child's jaws and face resulting in orthodontic problems. These causes cannot be corrected with fixed braces.
The function of the tongue, cheeks and lips determines tooth position. Correct facial growthdepends on correct function and breathing patterns.
